Training is available free of charge to New York State residents who are working directly or indirectly on electric vehicle charging equipment (EVCE) installations or similar projects, or who may be involved in these or similar projects at their organization in the future. Candidates must apply using their work email and employer domain name to confirm eligibility. Eligible participants will have the training costs fully subsidized by NYSERDA.
Organizations who have 20 students complete the course (all 3 modules), are eligible to receive a free site feasibility assessment from our team of engineering professionals. The ESG Workshop offered by GBRI is a one-day interactive training session designed for students and professionals who want to deepen their understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. It is intended as a follow-up to their Climate Change Workshop and aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to integrate ESG principles, occupant wellness strategies, safety practices, and green building standards into their projects.
The workshop focuses on ESG frameworks and standards, emphasizing the critical aspects of health and safety. Participants will learn how to implement robust safety practices while incorporating green building principles aligned with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. The program highlights the importance of creating sustainable, healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible building environments that prioritize the well-being of occupants while aligning with ESG and green building objectives.
Attending both the Climate Change Workshop and the ESG Workshop provides a comprehensive learning experience that connects climate action with sustainable building practices. By participating, individuals can acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to become certified ESG professionals capable of navigating the intersections of sustainability, occupant well-being, safety, and green buildings in the built environment.
GBRI offers a series of immersive workshops addressing the pressing issues of climate change and sustainability. These workshops aim to enhance understanding, inspire engagement, and provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to foster positive change. The first workshop, the Climate Change Action Workshop : New York City is influenced by GBRI‘s renowned “Climate Change Ambassador Program.” The second workshop, the ESG Workshop, specifically focuses on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations in sustainable practices.
The Climate Change workshop offered by GBRI goes beyond a surface-level understanding of the global challenge. Inspired by GBRI’s renowned “Climate Change Ambassador Program,” this hands-on workshop aims to empower participants to take meaningful action and become part of the solution.
Participants can attend the Climate Change workshop and, if desired, the ESG workshop the following day. They can also extend their stay in New York City for a weekend to explore landmarks and visit LEED and WELL certified buildings. Accommodation options are available throughout the city, and early booking is recommended.
The workshops welcome students, professionals in sustainability-related fields, environmental enthusiasts, educators, and business leaders. The aim is to deepen understanding, inspire engagement, and provide knowledge and skills for positive change in various sectors.

The Sustainability and Social Impact Partner Program allows individuals or representatives of companies and institutions to teach GBRI courses, aligning with GBRI’s mission of sustainable development and social impact.
By sharing resources and teaching courses locally, you will play a crucial role in mitigating climate change, advocating social justice, and driving global economic growth. GBRI invites you to register for a free introductory webinar to learn more about eligibility requirements, rewards (both monetary and educational), available training resources, and more. Our LEED V4 Project Management-BD +C is a 6-session live online experience designed to help LEED Credentialed Professionals understand what’s next in their career.
