Healthy Materials for Healthy Schools

While the benefits are increasingly well understood, many design professionals face challenges in identifying, evaluating, and specifying healthier materials. Questions often arise around verification standards, transparency documentation, testing protocols, and how to navigate product claims.

This session explores the process of selecting and incorporating healthier materials in schools from three complementary perspectives: the manufacturer, the independent testing laboratory, and the design specifier. Panelists discuss material transparency, third-party verification, emissions testing, and practical considerations that support informed material selection and healthier school environments.
