PMOs are often unable to realize their full potential because they fail to anticipate and proactively plan for common problems that creep up along the way. Its success depends on how happy the stakeholders are in their role as customers. This means we have to involve the stakeholders and their expectations at an early stage. A successful PMO is driven by strong & dedicated leadership, executive backing, high visibility, processes and policies, and authority to take action and drive success.
