Impressive increase in sale of electric cars globally | GBRI

With growing pollution concerns over gas guzzling cars, more and more people around the world are shifting to electric vehicles. According to a recent report, sale of electric and hybrid cars has increased by 63% globally as compared to the same quarter last year.

China is the top market for electric vehicles, accounting for roughly half of global sales in the third quarter. To curb vehicular pollution, the Chinese government offers incentives to help increase the number of low-emission cars on the road. Europe and North American are the second- and third-biggest markets, respectively.

Electric vehicle sales are poised to surge worldwide as an increasing number of countries such as China, Scotland, France and India announced intentions to ban diesel and gasoline cars in order to cut emissions. Notably, global electric vehicles sales are expected to exceed one million units this year for the first time.
