Pledge a Smile Foundation – Project Seva – Feeding the destitute during lockdown
Project Seva initiated by Pledge the Smile Foundation focuses on feeding and serving the basic needs of underprivileged workers in India during lockdown who are finding it hard to procure even a single meal a day.
Did you know that there are approximately 12.2 crore people lost their jobs during Covid-19 pandemic in India. 75% of which were daily wage workers who were unable to pay for their basic food necessities during the lockdown. Data in India showed that mean monthly income for labor who still had work fell 62%. Parents working as daily-wage workers ,with low incomes, took their kids out of school as they couldn’t provide them with basic pencils, pens, and notebooks. Need for an ID and paperwork and complex processes of handing out food packages to local communities forced many workers to fend for themselves.
The contents of a Food Kit provided by Project Seva includes Dry Ration as:-
- Flour (Atta)- 10 Kg
- Pulses (Dal) 1 Kg
- Cooking Oil – 1Kg
Such a kit costs about INR 500 or USD 6.75. Our goal is provide 100 food kits to the needy which would require INR 50000 or USD 678. You can be a part of this project and help those who need it the most.
Funds Raised so far: INR 30500
There is no minimum or maximum amount that can be donated. Every penny counts since this is for a good cause. Donate now and change someone’s life.

Pledge a Smile is a Indian Non Profit Organization focusing on healthcare, women empowerment, animal care, education, justice and hunger relief. We want to give back lost smiles, motivations, and hope for a better tomorrow for everyone.
